About

At Healthy Eyes for Life we are committed to providing you with the BEST QUALITY eye care in the business.  Our staff will not only give you a thorough exam, but also explain to you why we do what we do and give you the freedom to ask questions.

Dr. Ron Fiegel

Dr. Fiegel attended the University of Houston where he earned his optometry degree in 1976.  After serving 3 years in the US Navy, he returned to Wichita to establish his private practice.

Dr. Fiegel is a member of the American Optometric Association, Kansas Optometric Association, Wichita Optometric Society, CEO of Vision Care Plus and CEO of Vision Care Direct-Vision Plans.  Over the past 30 years he has expanded his optometry license to include treatment of ocular disease, including glaucoma and co-management of laser vision correction procedures and cataract surgery.

He continually strives to keep up with the changing scope of optometry, but will always keep at heart that "...my philosophy is to treat my patients as people, not conditions.  To that end, we should always put the patient first."

Kevin

Optician

Kevin has been an optician for over 20 years, most of that time has been with Dr Fiegel, however he has also worked at Brown's Optical, the VA, and with two other doctors (one that specializes in Children's Vision and one that specialized in Low Vision).  He is one of few opticians that know how and has the ability to edge lenses in house and does most of the lab work here at the office.  His many, many years of experience and habit of getting to know his patients makes it easier to pick out a frame that fits their face, their fashion and gives them the best possible vision.  When Kevin is not at work he loves to go golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.  He volunteers for the Webcam Golf Tournement in the summer and was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years.

Taylor

Taylor started at Dr Fiegel's office in 2011 while attending Newman University.  Working with our patients she  learned many valuable lessons that she is carrying with her  while attending the Accelerated Nursing Program at Wichita State University!   In her spare time she love to run! Taylor has completed a few half marathons and this last spring was able to complete her very first marathon in Oklahoma City!  Shortly after that experience she ran a Tough Mudder and came home with another medal and an engagement ring!  While she is not at the office everyday to see patients, she is working behind the scenes until she completes school.

Jenny

Jenny has worked for Healthy Eyes for Life in some aspect for almost 15 years, if it wasn't stuffing recall letters for Doctor after school or for the last 5 or so years actually working full time, when she wasn't in school.  She chose to work here when she went back to school and her other job would not afford her the hours to stay in school.  In May she graduated with an education degree and is looking forward to starting teaching in the fall.  She will miss seeing our wonderful patients and will definitely miss the time she has spent with her wonderful coworkers.
